Destination TEFL

The Destination TEFL virtual ESL course has been very challenging and pushed me out of my comfort zone. The course structure and material was engaging, interesting, fun and varied. It included both theory and practical elements - time has flown by and at the same time I feel like I’ve been on the course for months! The resources we have been given give me comfort as I will be able to reference them again in future in the workplace.

Our trainer Tina was professional, bubbly, entertaining, patient and supportive. Best of all, she was authentic and direct with her feedback which was really helpful. I feel equipped and ready to teach now that I have a variety of resources, tools, techniques, games and information to be the best ESL teacher I can be.

This virtual course was a fantastic 3 week experience that I will never forget! Incredible interactive course where you meet some really incredible people and learn super interesting and helpful ESL teaching techniques. I'm very glad that I took the TEFL course and even more happy I chose to take it with Destination TEFL. I really look forward to meeting the staff in person in Cambodia when I eventually head over there after Covid-related travel restrictions are loosened. Thanks Destination TEFL!!

I had an amazing experience from start to end! I was initially a little nervous going into the course with not much prior knowledge of the zoom platform and how it would translate to a classroom environment for a learner but those nerves quickly faded once I realised how straight forward the platform was to navigate. The content was presented in a way that made learning fun and I thought the pace of delivery was maintainable. I learnt so much and I now feel equipped with the tools to be able to start applying for online teaching jobs. I recommend this course to anyone who is looking for a high quality TEFL course with amazing teachers who provide you with the skills and confidence to start your teaching journey.

The training is excellent. As a trainee here I feel as if I have really progressed over the last month and I feel super confident in the tools I have been taught to teach Khmer students. The directors are very transparent with you in terms of one needing to know all the ins and outs of this course and how job placements will work etc. If one is nervous that they won’t get their money’s worth doing this course - I can 100% say that everything about this course is worth it. From the hotel to the resources used and to the actual training itself. It’s wonderful experience filled with such fun as well!

Great course, a lot of fun but also very demanding. The teachers are amazing and very knowledgeable and helpful. Tina Hennessy was our teacher through most of the course and we all just loved her. She is an amazing teacher. Siem Reap is a wonderful place to stay while doing the course (the course takes place at the beautiful hotel where students stay - Isirafu boutique hotel). Keep in mind that you might end up working in Phnom Penh, which I hear is not as great as Siem Reap, but I am yet to experience. I would recommend this course for sure, but give yourself a month before joining to prepare. There are a lot of things that you need to do before travelling to Cambodia (even if they might tell you that everything can be done in a week's time).

I am absolutely stunned by the Destination TEFL, Siem Reap program and team! The in-depth course has given me the knowledge, skills and confidence to be an amazing TEFL/TESOL teacher! I enjoyed the teacher practicals as well as community outreach aspect of the course with CDP! I am also thrilled to have at least 3 job interviews for possible job placements lined up, even before graduation! I would highly recommend this program! Special shout out to Tina Hennessy (our head trainer) - she is such a warm, kind and passionate trainer!
